Description

The Cahokia Mounds belong to the Native Americans that lived in what has become modern-day St. Louis, Missouri. The Cahokia Mounds extend past the Mississippi River. At the time, it was the largest settlement of Native Americans in the area. In the past, the city was far larger than what remains today. Many consider the mounds important because it is also the largest prehistoric structure in the United States.
