The Cook Islands Ensign, or flag of the Cook Islands, was adopted in 1979. The blue field stands for the Pacific Ocean whereas the white coloring denotes the peaceful nature of the residents of Cook Islands. The Union Jack represents the British associations. The fifteen stars forming a circle on the right side of the flag represent the fifteen islands.
