Description
The current version of the flag of Egypt was adopted in 1984. It is a tricolor with horizontal stripes of red, white, and black. The gold emblem in the center of the white band is the national emblem of Egypt – the Eagle of Saladin. The colors of the stripes symbolize the struggles to end oppression by the monarchy.
