Lake Kaindy in Kazakhstan translates to “birch tree lake”. The lake is 1,300 feet long and as deep as 98 feet in a few areas. It was created in 1911 when an earthquake caused a massive limestone landslide. A natural dam formed to block the gorge. Rainwater then filled the valley, thus creating the lake. Try saying something from this place – “Pleased to meet you”: “Rad vstreche s vami.”
