The flag of the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville) was originally flown in 1959, removed in 1970, then readopted in 1991. The tricolors of green, yellow, and red represent the traditional Pan-African symbolism of unification among the African states. This flag is the only Pan-African flag to display a diagonal design on it.
