Description

Sacsayhuamán is a citadel that is located right on the outskirts of Cusco City, which is part of Peru. Scholars are unsure exactly how old the citadel is, but many believe it dates back to at least 1100. The Incas took the area over during the thirteenth century and made many expansions, such as adding protective stone walls. Today, the citadel is still filled with historical relics from centuries past.
