Description
The Iniciatic Wells are found on the Regaleira Estate in Sintra, Portugal. The wells are also called initiation wells or inverted towers. They descend downward and are lined with stairs, but do not serve as water sources. Instead, they were used in ceremonies including Tarot initiation rites. The wells are connected by tunnels that also connect to other areas in the estate. Try saying something from this place – “What time is it?”: “Que horas são?”
