Description
The Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. is dedicated to founding father Thomas Jefferson. The memorial is a neoclassical building that sits on the shores of the Tidal Basin of the Potomac River. It was constructed of white Imperial Danby Marble shipped in from Vermont. While the building was completed in 1943, the bronze statue was not added until 1947.
